My name is Jose (49) and I am the driving force behind this crazy project. In addition to mothering two amazing sons, Joas and Jeftha, I am both a skilled funeral florist and the inspired director of City Oasis. It is my passion to explore with people the deeper meanings of life. Perhaps we will stumble upon answers that are perfect for you. Together with my life partner I have lived this adventure for years in Southeast Asia, and now I may continue this special journey in the Netherlands.

I am Lennart, 39 years old from Emmen. As a member of the City Oasis pioneer team, my mission is to offer people in their twenties a place of their own where they can find peace and spirituality. In our hectic modern world, it is crucial that young people have a place of escape, away from the constant stimuli and distractions. At the City Oasis, people in their twenties can unwind, organize their thoughts, reflect and refuel energy. Discover an oasis of serenity here and find yourself for a while.

My name is Gerben Kajim, one of the enthusiastic pastors from Emmen and closely involved in the Stadsoase, the hotspot for people in their twenties. I am married and father of three wonderful daughters who are each in the bloom of their lives (17, 19 and 21 years old).

Remember those days? A jumble of interests and activities that flew in all directions as you developed yourself in every possible way. For me, one of the most important discoveries was that of the meaning of life.

A time when you develop yourself in all sorts of areas. One of those areas was the search for the meaning of my life.

At the Stadsoase in Emmen, we not only want to offer a diverse range of activities, but above all, we want to create a space where, together with others, you can be fully engaged with faith, spirituality and meaning.

I feel privileged to be part of this special place and to have created the opportunity to realize this meeting place. Look forward to seeing you there soon!

Hi, I am Mirte, 21 years old and active as a pioneer at the City Oasis! For me, working as a conversation partner at the City Oasis is an incredibly enriching experience for my life. I get a lot of energy from meeting and connecting with peers. In particular, I enjoy being involved in the activities surrounding Taize. Taize is a youth monastery in France where I have been coming for several years. The simplicity and harmony of life there inspire me and I love being able to share those values here through activities at the City Oasis.

I also like basic things like crocheting and studying. Activities for which there is also room in the city oasis 🙂 Hope to see each other there!
